Welcome to Sabo Fuji, a charming cafe nestled in the heart of Hiroshima. This cozy spot is a must-visit for those seeking a wonderfully authentic Japanese breakfast experience. Here, coffee isn't just a drink; it's an art form, meticulously crafted by a delightful older couple whose warmth enhances every sip and bite.

The essence of Sabo Fuji lies in its simplistic yet delectable menu featuring items such as their irresistible egg sandwiches and toast. Picture this: fluffy eggs, perfectly seasoned and sandwiched between fresh, soft bread, served with a steaming cup of coffee that brings a smile with every sip. Patrons rave about the quality of the coffee, often declaring it as the best they’ve tasted during their travels in Japan. And let’s not overlook the lovely touch of complimentary tea offered by the endearing owners, adding a personal dimension to your visit.

Step inside, and you'll instantly feel the calming atmosphere that permeates Sabo Fuji. With its small size and minimalistic decor, the cafe emanates a serene vibe, making it the perfect escape from the bustling city outside. You'll find delightful decorative fish tanks that add a touch of whimsy and tranquility. Customers have shared their fond memories of enjoying breakfast here, often highlighted by the friendly interaction with the elderly couple, who are known for their welcoming smiles — a true testament to Japan's renowned hospitality.

While it’s helpful to note that the couple primarily communicates in Japanese, don't let that deter you. Many visitors, including Rebecca Baumann and Connor Keane, have successfully navigated the menu with tools like Google Translate, which makes the experience all the more adventurous. And even if the cafe allows smoking, the lack of lingering odors means you can focus on indulging in your meal without distraction.

The community feel is palpable here, as most of the customers are locals who frequent Sabo Fuji for their morning rituals. This adds an authentic touch that many travelers yearn for — a chance to blend in with the daily life of Hiroshima. So, whether you are a tourist looking for a cozy breakfast or a local in search of a new favorite spot, Sabo Fuji promises a welcoming experience filled with scrumptious food and genuine interaction.

Next time you find yourself in Hiroshima, don't miss the opportunity to savor great food, delicious coffee, and the splendid charm that only a family-run cafe like Sabo Fuji can offer.

Came here for breakfast. The food was very tasty. Even though they only speak Japanese, we managed well with Google translate. The lady was very lovely and offered us complementary tea after we finished our meal.

The best cup of coffee I had in Japan run by the sweetest older couple. Excellent egg sandwichs and cool decorative fish tanks! Cash only so hit the atm beforehand.

Very small and quiet cafe, run by a very kind older couple. Very relaxing atmosphere and good food/coffee. We had egg sandwiches and egg toast. The couple don’t speak any english but their menu is very simple Japanese with no kanji, and is very easy to translate with Google translate camera! But warning, they do allow smoking in the cafe. Yet somehow it didn’t smell like cigarettes at all when we walked in!

Supremely gentle and sweet hosts. They accommodated our needs despite having a language barrier. The sandwiches were freshly made by the grandpa and very very delicious for quite honest prices. The coffee was great too. All this was for upto ¥1000 per person, which is very reasonable. And they even offered us complimentary tea after the breakfast. Highly recommended this place for anyone looking for delicious breakfast!

(English speaker) I came here with my son, and we had a delicious light breakfast. We used Google Translate to order. The coffee was SO good. It is run by an elderly couple. They were so attentive and kind. If I ever come back to Hiroshima, I will return. Very close to the Peace Museum, too.
